Now there&#8217;s a good reason for visitors to tear themselves away from <strong>La Croisette<\/strong> and head uphill to Le Cannet.<\/p>\n<p>The very first<strong> museum<\/strong> devoted to the painter, <strong>Pierre Bonnard<\/strong> (1867\u20131947) has now opened its doors in Le Cannet with a smashing new exhibition, titled<em> Bonnard et Le Cannet: Dans La Lumi\u00e8re de La Me\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gathered from such heavyweight museums as the Musee d&#8217;Orsay in Paris and the Metropolitan in New York, the exhibition includes such masterpieces as <em>L&#8217;Atelier au Mimosa, Baignoir<\/em> and<em> L&#8217;Amandier<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Why Le Cannet? Bonnard fell in love with the colors in the south of France and lived in Le Cannet\u00a0 lived here between 1922 and 1947. High on the hills overlooking Cannes and the sea, he painted some of his most enchanting work.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, this exhibit concentrates on the works produced during this period as Bonnard captured the glory of the French Riviera in its kaleidoscope of color.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit will be on display until September 27.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scrunched up against neighbouring Cannes, Le Cannet seems swallowed up by its glamorous sister.
